Holiday gift budget spreadsheet
December spending goes over plan in small steps. One sheet with a limit per person keeps it visible.
Set the total first
Decide what you can spend in total, then split it: gifts, food, decorations, travel. The total comes first so the list adapts to it, not the other way round.
Gift list columns
- Person, gift idea, budget and actual price.
- Bought, wrapped, delivered.
- Difference between budget and actual, summed at the bottom.
The dinner
Write the shopping list for a base number of guests and scale it: quantity = base quantity x guests / base guests.
Shared costs
If several people pay for the dinner, log who paid what and settle at the end with one transfer per person instead of many small ones.
