How the math works

Weeks run Monday to Sunday and partial weeks count: Q1 2027 touches 14 weeks (the first is January 1–3, the last March 29–31). Per week = (goal − revenue so far) ÷ weeks left, counting the current week. A $9,000 goal from January 1: $642.86, about $643 a week; with a $45 average order, 15 orders a week. With $1,534 of expenses, profit is $7,466 and a 25% set-aside is $1,866.50. With $8,700 in by Monday, March 29: 1 week left, $300.

How do I set a weekly sales target?

Divide what's left of the goal by the weeks left. Recalculate every week: if one week is short, the rest of the quarter shows the new target.

How much should I set aside for taxes?

A common starting point is 25 to 30% of profit for a small business, but it depends on your income, state and deductions. Check with a tax professional.

Why count partial weeks?

Sales on January 1–3 still count toward Q1, so that week is part of the plan even if it's short.
